Caitlin Mims is a doctoral student and Patricia Rose Teaching Assistant in the Department of Art History. Working under Dr. Lynn Jones, Caitlin’s research focus is on medieval art and the material culture of the Mediterranean. Her doctoral research focuses on a group of Middle Byzantine amulets and the boundary between the medical and magical in these objects. Caitlin graduated with her BA from the University of Tampa in 2016, earning magna cum laude in history with a minor in art history. She completed her MA in art history at Florida State University in 2019. Caitlin has received multiple fellowships and grants including a junior fellowship from the Library of Congress, an Ada Belle Winthrop-King Visual Arts endowment grant, College of Fine Arts Travel Grants, and Congress of Graduate Students Conference Presentation Support Grants.

Haylee Glasel is a first year doctoral student at Florida State University. Her area of focus is Indigenous art and media of the Sámi in Scandinavia/Russia from the late 20th century until the present. She is interested in land rights, borders, environmental changes and policy, and environmental activism particularly in Norway. Haylee received her MA in Art History in 2019, and BA degrees in Art History and Classical Archaeology with a minor in Anthropology in 2017 from Florida State University. Haylee is currently a historic preservationist for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
