Abstract

Studies were conducted during 1991-1992 on the relative abundances ofsmall mammals and insects at Hopkins Memorial Forest in an oakmaple-beech stand, near Williamstown, Massachusetts. The construction ofa canopy walkway facilitated the comparison of the abundance of different organisms between the upper canopy (> 15 m) and the understory (0-5 m).
