Abstract
A nematological survey of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] and dry bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) farms in the Cauca valley, Colombia, demonstrated the presence of Heterodera glycines Ichinohe in both crops. The nematode was found in the majority of the soybean and dry bean farms surveved. The cyst nematode occurred in highest densities around the towns of Candelaria and Palmira and in lower densities in farms around Cali. Buga, Tulua, and Bugalagrande. This is the first report of the incidence of this pest in South America.
