Surveillance of Houses of Worship: Are There Limits, or Total Freedom?

Abstract

Religious extremism poses a difficult problem for democratic societies such as the United States. Since one of the government's principal responsibilities is to protect citizens, the government must attempt to identify potential threats. However, this attempt may infringe upon rights granted by the U.S. Constitution. In this article, the author discusses this tension and make recommendations on how to resolve this tension in a morally acceptable manner.
