Incorporating Computer-Aided Software in the Undergraduate Chemical Engineering Core Courses
Abstract
Introductions of computer-aided software and simulators are implemented during the sophomore-year of the chemical engineering (ChE) curriculum at the American University of Sharjah (AUS). Our faculty concurs that software integration within the curriculum is beneficial to our students, as evidenced by the positive feedback received from industry regarding the enthusiasm of our newly hired graduates to execute industrial projects. In addition, students’ exit surveys reveal that software integration is an effective method for teaching ChE courses.
