Julie Ji, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She received her BS in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, MA), and PhD in Bioengineering from University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA). Her research focuses on vascular cell and nuclear mechanics and endothelial mechano-biology. Her teaching focuses on topics including fluid mechanics, drug delivery and biotechnology. She also advises graduate students and mentored Master’s and PhD thesis projects.
Sharon Miller, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. She received a BS degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN) and MS and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI). Her educational efforts focus on biomedical engineering discipline-based educational research including design self-efficacy, project-based learning, critical reflection in ethics, and high-impact practices
Steven Higbee, PhD, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. He received a PhD in Bioengineering from Rice University (Houston, TX) in 2013, after earning BS and MS degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN). With a background in tissue engineering research, he now focuses on teaching and educational research in biomedical engineering. His areas of interest include design, experiential learning, first-year engineering, and biomedical ethics.
