Abstract

An illustration of how the five principles of assessment are used to assess problem-solving skills.  Four options are given for the goals and criteria for problem-solving skills.  In this paper seven options are described for evidence upon which an assessment can be made about a student's performance in solving problems. The options include: mark the answer and six options for marking or assessing the answer, and the process used to obtain an answer.
