The Final Frontier: Evolution of Space Law in a Global Society

Abstract

Thanks to decreased costs, increased capabilities, and new innovations, the Space Industry is growing at an exponential rate. The authors present an account of the Space Industry and its jurisprudence. Upon completion of their study, the authors find that while the system has cultivated global peace and cooperation, it is critically outdated and undefined. Borrowing from both Liberalism and Realism, the authors present their recommendation for a new self-regulatory system that will continue to cultivate the growth of the industry while ensuring that it is properly governed by uniform and clearly defined standards.
